I was scanning through WinMX, and I found a Dark Tranquillity song called Lady in Black, can anyone give me information on this song?

What album is it off of?

It's off of the album "Time". The album isn't that great. "Lady In Black" is probably the best song on it.

A picture of a man in makeup, looking silly and playing with fire. How could I not post it?

The DT cover version is from the Mercyful Fate tribute CD released by Listenable Records in 2000 (I think), a fucking great tribute, one of my faves. Other featured bands include Dimension Zero, Gardenian, Emperor, Sacramentum, Luciferion, Misanthrope, Armageddon, Immolation...

Great album, get it!

hey maybe it's a chris de burgh cover of his great song "lady in red" to which some satanic message was added and thus had to be renamed to lady in black... who knows?
ok i know one should not make jokes about such things.

...because otherwise satan will come for you and beat you up to a bloody teddy bear.

Lady in black is a Uriah Heep song....
Same group as Vintersorgs cover, Rainbow Demon....
 you don't say so!
Merciful Fate happen to have a song titled exactly the same as another band; a very rare coincidence, indeed.... :Smokedev: I happen to own the mentioned merciful fate tribute album

Uriah Heep:
"She came to me one morning
One lonely Sunday morning
Her long hair flowing
In the midwinter wind
I know not how she found me
For in darkness I was walking
And destruction lay around me
From a fight I could not win
Ah ah ah [...] "

Merciful Fate:
"On a magical misty morning
I was standing in the Autumn rain
Suddenly the birds fell silent
Would I ever hear them sing again...
Hear them sing again...
Without a word of warning
I saw a shadow in the Autumn rain
Just like in my nightly dreams
The Lady In Black had come again...
The Lady had come again...
Begging me to follow her into the misty rain
Begging me to follow her into the no more pain [...] "

note: both ladies came in the morning, and both times the temperature was low... - what a rip-off!! :(
 :) :)

btw, hello! :D
