I'd give an eye to have spring here now. I'm getting tired of walking in this dirty mix of snow, sand and exhaust.

it's far from spring here, too. "Dutch winter" is going to be here for another month at least, i think. It just dutch winter means just above the freezing point, all grey, wet and windy. No beautiful winter wonderland pictures like those above anymore, i'm afraid...
But i definitely can smell the spring in the air! It's very faint, like on the verge of the perception but it's there. I guess it's because of the birds. They weren't chirping like that just a few weeks ago...

i went to have a walk at the lake yesterday.
it was a sunny and warm afternoon, the lake was so beautiful. on this lake lived Giacomo Puccini and taking inspiration from its calm waters wrote the most part of his famous Operas .
there was also al lot of ducks there, very funny and chaotic. a man told me that in a month they will have children so i'm going to remember it to go there again to seem the little chickens!
i've done some photos of the place and those funny friends.

it seems there is no threat of the flood anymore? you told us some weeks ago that you had to move all your stuff in your house to the upper floors because there was a warning that the town would be flooded by the lake...

fortunatly we are out of danger now!
the weather has been good for all the month, no raining, no storms, no copious snow over the mountains at the back of the lake, so the lake level has lowered considerably

.A volcanic fissure has erupted in one of the most popular hiking trails(in between two glaciers), so maybe I'll go hike there...(you're allowed to)

Anyways; we may not have snowy mountains (well, no mountains at all in the southern parts of the country), but we do have a lot of nice landscapes

The best thing about this country is that there's nature everywhere (about 80% of our terrain is still covered with trees ).
