Ok everyone pardon my computer illiteracy but how does one go about fixing the latency in recording? I'm using a KX audio ASIO driver and I have Cakewalk.

I think the real question is - why "fix" the latency?
If you're using KX drivers, you obviously have set it up wrong...
I personally don't use them, but I recorded once using them and had no problem in monitoring input signals. SB cards can play input signals directly at output, so it's kind of "direct monitoring". You just need to make proper connections in KX DSP to make it work...

KX are good drivers, but they can be a bitch to set up and aren't so easily understandable.
Unless you're recording MIDI (while listening through some VSTi) or really need to hear processed input on the channel you record, feel free to raise the latency as much as possible, as it'll hog your system less that way...
