Considering that a lot of the songs are more reflectively themed than sad, I'd have to disagree. Not to mention that it's extremely upbeat and full of lush, bright tones and poppy arrangements. Like I said earlier, their earlier albums are way darker and more sorrowful.

some of the songs are upbeat but some are sad and very melancholic.

Like: Disintegration, Untitled, Homesick, Plainsong, and Same deep water as you.

Thanks, loved many of these bands. Just spent all my money on buying many of these albums now. Guess it will be worth it, I will drown in doom the forthcoming weeks. Love it!

I'm not too familiar with Katatonia but based on what I've heard of them, Temujin is a band that you might also like.
