From what I've seen on the tube, her live performances are sub par. I do think her intentionally refined and vintage vibe image is a sort of reaction to the whole lady gaga-types which painted the pop scene in the past years.

Lana Del Rey is better than most MTV stuff nowadays.... yet, it still sounds kinda "over-produced" or something like this to me....
About the singing.... I really don't think you need an AWESOME range to sound great..... there are LOTS of singers who doesn't seem to have a great vocal range but that can manage to imprint very different colors and emotions to their songs....

Although she is very well accompanied, it is a great performance. Too bad her other songs are mostly hip hop stuff....
