Least Error Prone CDs for burning Masters

What programme are you guys using to burn off your masters? I had a problem with a master I'd sent out recently, all seemed fine on my pc and it played fine in the cd players I'd tested it on but we'd problems when we got it back from the pressing place, it doesn't work in some CD players (including some of the ones that I tested it on) and he said it was the master CD we'd sent up.
Any handy programmes for burning and/or checking the compatiblity if your cds?

This sounds pretty suspect to me - it seems that the problem would be with the media that the duplication plant uses or the duplication method they're employing. If there was a problem with your master they should have asked you for another.

Maybe I'm missing something.

Jarkko, I noticed Sony Audio CD-Rs were really expensive just for 10 CDs... Do you think the link I posted are good for the purpose?

I really can't say from personal experience, but I always just go with some reputable audio CD-R's to be sure. They're about 10€ for a jewel case ten-pack here, and if that's too steep, just add it to the client's invoice as "Medium expenses" Seriously, though, I much rather pay a bit more for the CD's than burn the master again and send it out to the client/duplicating plant in case of errors.

Jesus... 26 quid :l I think Ill go with the Taiyo Yuden, they may not be purposely built for audio but they seem to be very trustworthy

the thing you are missing here is you don't know which drives are more compatible with certain discs. A cheaper disc could work better in the particular drive you are using.

But the Taiyo Yuden stuff should be great, I just can't get them anywhere locally so I usually just take the easiest route and go get a pack of Sonys at a nearby store.

The driver I'm using is the one that comes with Mac Pros, I'm not entirely sure of the brand and it might not be the most suitable one, but it's the one I have at the moment. But yeah, I should do some trial and error and see what comes up. Thanks for the reply

These were the best when i had to sent several pre-masters per week for replication after being checked with plextools for c1/2/0 errors.

When burning the master disc, do not use a normal CD-R. Use high quality audio discs.

I've never had problems with Sony Audio CD-R's.

tens os da Apogee mas sinceramente não sei até que ponto nao são chinocadas como os outros e apenas questão de marketing.
