what guitars do you own/recommend to buy?

i ask this cuz obviously we have a more limited selection and im planning to buy a nice one soon. I currently have an RG1570, so what do you thin kwould be a good step up, in the range on $1500-2000?

amp advice(preferably tube) within the same price range would be appreciated too!

My latest is a custom Jackson Soloist. It was about $1,500.

I think they used the same bridge assemly or nut as on a right-handed guitar though. The high-pitched E string it far too close to the edge of the fretboard. I push down on it and it slides right off the edge of the frets, sometimes getting stuck on the outside edge of them. It really pisses me off after paying so much for it. It's not like I get a chance to try the guitar out before buying it. The only guitars you can really ever find in a guitar store left handed are fender strats.

Before this I owned a $600 Epiphone. (I got lucky and found it in a guitar store.) It was a nice guitar after I changed out the bridge pickup. I think it might have been more comfortable to play than my Jackson. It only had 22 frets though.

The Jackson has a really bright sound. The Epiphone has a really mellow sound. No floyd or anything. Came stock with 3 single coil pups. I replaced the bridge with a Duncan Hotrails. (decent pickup, definatly better ones out their though)

I think for the price the Epiphone was better. But I just can't stand not having 24 frets. Maybe if my Jackson wasn't all mucked up I would like it a bit more. It definatly sounds better than the Epiphone.

Yeah, I don't know exactly what is causing the problem either. For some reason the high pitched E is closer to the edge of the fretboard than the lower pitched E. The nut is centered on the neck. (maybe it's designed for a right handed guitar though?) I'm not sure about the bridge either.. I don't know if this hardware is suppose to be universal or if they threw some right handed shit on the guitar.

It will make me think twice before blindly ordering a custom again. I guess the best thing to do is to goto as many stores as possible until you find something.

hmm, yea ill try to do that... but any advice on good tube amps for metal, nothing too expensive or loud

learn to play right handed

no.

If you already started playing lefty....theres basically no way back. I play lefty, and only the thought of starting all over again makes me wanna kill a muslim. I have friends that totally suck at guitar, and just immagine suddenly being worse than them. No way I wasted 3 years of my guitar-life. Ill stay tr00 to teh left side!!!1

That was my speech

I do and I'm right-handed. I must be amadextris.

@Conti: If you're going to alter a signature to be funny, at least spell things correctly and use proper punctuation;

"Yes I can feel your anger.." 'Thats not my anger your feeling.'

Should be:

"Yes, I can feel your anger..." 'That's not my anger you're feeling.'

Depends what sound you want, what amp do you have at the moment?

at the moment i have a shitty Marshall MG10CD. I run my ibanez through an MT-2 then into the dirty channel of the amp. I dont really like the sound of it though, too sterie and the distortion isn't crisp/clear at all... also i want an amp that i wont need to use a distortion pedal with

and by the way apart from this post all i can say is WOW do u ppl know how to get off-topic:rolleyes:
