I left my Fireface800 on for a week !! while I was traveling

I've switched it off - just wondering has anyone else had theirs on for that time and what sort of damage I can expect

:(

I wouldn't worry too much unless it's really hot when you touch the chassis. I've left my Profire on for nearly three days straight pretty much every weekend (friday morning until sunday night) since last spring fwiw...then again it might shorten the lifespan but I'd think the power spike from turning it on and off a thousand times would be just as bad or worse on the components.

I left my digi002 on for 2 years. I have also have some DSP and A/D/A in amp rooms (stadium PA's) that have been on for 5 years except for the occasional reboot(maybe twice a year at most). It's not a big deal.

I leave my computer/interfaces/PODxt Pro/external HDD/monitors/everything on basically 24/7-365 except if there is a bad storm I turn it off, that is unless power goes out before I get to it. As someone already said, it's more harmful to turn your stuff on/off over and over than it is to leave it on constantly.

I used to leave all my stuff on until my RNP fried. One of its ICs (probably the main one, which controls the whole thing) overheated and now I have a $500 paper weight until I find money to send it overseas, as FMR Audio won't send me schematics for repairing it. Also, brazilian energy isn't stable at all (it varies all the time from 105 to 135v), so using US gear rated for 115Vv isn't really safe.

But if you have stable energy AND proper cooling, it is OK to leave the stuff on all the time.

Pardon my ignorance, but why in the FUCK would you want to let ANY gear on for an extended amount of time if it's not being used??!?? Just seems crazy to me.
