Good news come in pairs, my friends...

Norway's Leprous released latest album "Coal" last Summer, and now the band will head to North America to tour in support of the disc. Leprous comments:

"We're over excited to announce that we'll finally do some shows in the USA and Canada in September!

"It has always been a dream for us to do a US/Canada tour, and to start the tour in one of the coolest festivals in the country is an honor! Even though the tour is rather short we get to visit many great places. We promise to give everything we have to give, so we recommend you to attend a show near you!"

September 12 - Atlanta, GA - ProgPower USA
September 16 - Detroit, MI - The Token Lounge
September 17 - Chicago, IL - Reggie's
September 18 - Toronto, ON - The Comfort Zone
September 19 - Ottawa, ON - Mavericks
September 20 - New York, NY - Studio @ Webster Hall
September 21 - Springfield, VA - Empire

Ugh......at Reggie's the same night Sonata/Delain/& Xandria are at MoJoe's........decisions..decisions......

Would be an easy choice for me. As much as I love Sonata through Unia -- they are not a strong band anymore sadly. Delain is good. Don't care for Xandria.

Leprous has done nothing but get stronger. Their 4 song set at Tuska last year was better than pretty much everyone elses set that whole weekend. The only reason I put Amorphis and Bolt Thrower above them is that they got way more time and I love both of those bands.

Seeing 'The Valley' live is amazing.

Yeah, agree with you on Sonata. Though Delain can bring it and I kinda wanna see Xandria with the new singer, I'm thinking Leprous is the way I'll go. PP then headlining a gig at a small place.....should be awesome.

Note to Chicago fans...

I may have just found the two bands who would play as local openers. ProgPower fans, BEWARE. One of them could very well become a favorite around here.

More to come... :)

For the most part, the openers will be very quality local-support, including this one Chicago band that Met-Al recommended. :)

Quality local support eh? Maybe Shock and Musk Ox. Can't remember the local band that opened up for Death Angel. Saw the kid with a Slipknot shirt grunting into a mic and I made a quick exit. Nothing good would have come from sticking around for that.

Hey, Milton!

I'm glad that you liked the recommendation. I wish Leprous the best of luck!

Stay metal. Never rust.
Albert

Pretty short, but still cool that they're doing this. Looks like ProgPower is a good kickoff for more than a few band's tours this year.

What album is a good place to start? Might go to this depending on the opener.

Leprous is very unique and sometimes very hard to get into. It has taken people several listens to even be able to understand what their idea is with the music. To me, "Bilateral" is their best, followed by "Coal" and "Tall Poppy Syndrome."
