LEPROUS announces North American Coal Tour 2014

When Coal came out, I gave it a few listens and nothing stood out. I figured it was just going to subpar compared to Bilateral. It happens -- a band releases an amazing album and then the next album just can't hold a light to it. However, as the namesake kind of references, I figured there must be a diamond somewhere in the album. And then it happened! The early synth lines in 'The Valley' really began to crack open the album for me. It's probably not my favourite track anymore, but it definitely opened the album up for me.

I feel that Bilateral is much easier to get into, but Coal might just be the better of the two. As I tell others, Bilateral is my 'favourite' but I find that I listen to Coal way more often.

Bilateral is my favorite, but I've only heard Coal once, and I've never listened to Tall Poppy Syndrome in full, so take from that what you will.

All this being said, Leprous is still in my Top 5 for bands I'm excited to see this September.
