I appreciate the direction that the French scene is taking BM, but I've yet to hear anything (except Blut Aus Nord's The Work Which Transforms God) that has been on par with the old Norwegian BM.
I gotta get Grotesque. Does it improve where Vacuum faltered?
Yeah, the only excessively lo-fi material I enjoy is Paysage d'Hiver's work (EVERYONE should check out the self-titled tape). Also I just can't get to grips with the lo-fi buzz stuff, i know of course there's monetary and other circumstances limiting a productions quality but blatantly crackling plastic wrap or recording their echo or whatever the fuck else they do is just stupid. you can prove a point/create your mise en scene without being an asshat about it.
+1Belenos is pretty cool.
Yeah, this pretty much sums up Nehëmah, you can't expect anything groundbreaking but it isn't bad at all.Nehëmah is good but very standard. That said, they've never released anything below average.
Nah, old Belenos is definitely worth listening to, certainly more than the band in your avatar which is pretty much one of the worst "black metal" bands that I've seen hyped on this site.
So whats the general opinion on the NSBM-oriented french scene?
