basically scoop the mids @ 400 hz , add a different eq curve to the high mids with voxengo curve eq. without curve eq i have never gotten a sound that really fit my mixes.
take a good guitarsound (for example from bands that have multitrack rockband tracks available like devildriver etc.) and take an eq snapshot. thats how i do it.
