Liquid mix and a Powercore compact... together?

I'm looking into buying some serious DSP power soon and i'm wondering how these two would run together?

Seperate firewire cards?

Also, what are some good firewire cards for this kinda lark?


I've not got any firwwire ports but NEED to upgrade from the basic pish i'm using now so would be using a firepod, liquidmix and powercore compact.


what's the best setup for this?

The otheroption is a liquid mix and a uad card.

id reccomed the uad over the powercore jock,
the powercores plug ins are... okay... not bad but unremarkable (with the exception of the sonnox eq) whereas the uads kick arse

I'm seriously interested in the Powercore, some seriously nice looking plugs with it...

not shite... just unremarkable compared to the uad, theyre in no way bad, they just dont make you go WOW!
the reverbs are really nice though

Im running a UAD and a powercore compact. The reverbs from the system 6000 on the powercore will impress the shit out of you. Ive ended up using the powercore more for reverbs and effects and the UAD for EQ and compression. IMHO they have strengths in different areas.

Yeah, my plan was to use Liquid mix for Cmp/EQ and Powercore for the wierder stuff and reverbs!

Sounds like a good plan, Ive never tried the liquid mix but Ive heard good things about it
