Live show anticipation?

Alright, Day 3 is here, and I'm near death and completely broke. Last night was insanity personified, and let's just say things didn't exactly go as smoothly, eh?

Today, we have:
Behemoth
Deicide
Vehemence
Amon Amarth
Rotting Christ
Lethal Aggression
Anal Blast
Thundercore
Divine Empire
Bloodstorm
Pyrexia
Revenge
Yakuza
...and a gazillion unsigned bands. My head hurts, I'm going now.

Im going to see Symphony X this friday at Lamour (Brooklyn - NY)... then... humm... New England Metal Festival (with Opeth and finally LACUNA COIL), then whatever good comes near me, and of course, PROGPOWER!

Hey man, we should meet up at that show.

I've got to be there early to speak with SymX, but then a group of 7 of us will be hanging all night, including 5 of the 8 Royal Carnage staff members. We're unofficially going to "celebrate" our launch that night.

A whole bunch more friends of ours will be in attendance as well, so be sure to stay in touch and we can meet and hang. Cheers.

Well, it was very nice to meet some peeps at the various shows I've been at over the past few weeks...the Metal Meltdown...the Symphony X gig at L'Amours...the Into Eternity/Kataklysm/Dying Fetus show last weekend...

Now, I guess the next big show I'm looking forward to would be Vehemence/Behemoth/Amon Amarth (fuck Deicide) at L'Amours on April 5. Who's with me?!

Dude, I was gonna go.. but believe or not, my gay-ass "brother-in-law" decided not to go anymore (after a conversation with his father) and guess what? He threw the tickets away... I'm really pissed off... Good that I didn't spend any money.. The thing is.. That very exact day, Mike Portnoy will be on a Drum Clinic about 20 min away from my town (Danbury CT) for FREE, so I guess I'm gonna go see MP instead of the show... anyway.. it'll be awesome!

I got a Biohazard concert next week. I'm not a fan, haven't got any albums, haven't listen to anything of theirs till a couple of months ago. My friend is tho and it's a small place. $15 so where's the harm. It'll be somethin different and I'll probably be fun anyhow.

Soulfly are also coming in early May so I'll be going to that. Love Max's voice, plus he plays some Sepultura as well at his concerts to should be awesome :rock:

WITH DEAD EMBRYONIC CELLS...!!!!

Worth it just for that.

That's a shame - back in '98, we saw Soulfly at the OzzFest (back when it was cool) and they did Dead Embryonic and Desperate Cry.

That middle section in Dead Embryonic Cells makes history. And it's just a chugalong riff - it's the drums that make it fucking scream when they kick in. The crowd goes nuts - always.

It is 100% impossible not to go nuts when those drums kick in. It's totally hypnotic. And there's nothing better than listening to that on a beautiful, sunny day!

Yep, check it out for yourself at http://www.wacken.com 100% official!

Yeah, in the 48 minutes it took for you to respond, I did just that you bastard. ;) Anyway, a big 'fuck yeah' to Testament at Wacken!

Testament, Slayer, Annihilator, Ancient Rites, Thyrfing, Gamma Ray, Iced friggin' Earth, Nile....oh man.

This is shaping up to be one of the greatest metal festivals ever. Hmmm.... now how 'bout a little band known as Iron Maiden? Hahahaha, dare to dream huh? :)

Can you imagine that? I cannot. Actually I can. *In Chris Farley voice* Me likey. *points finger to bottom lip* :)

Chris Farley RIP.

Testament...woohoo!

Wacken IS simply going to be the greatest show ever...I only hope worldwide events don't screw things up for us...(yes, I realize the utter selfishness of that statement)

And Soulfly is one of the worst bands I've ever had the mispleasure of seeing live, though to be fair, I only saw them last summer opening for Slayer. Bleh.

Awesome fest, only wish it was in North East of the States or better yet outside my home town. The fest that puts all others to shame.

Yes I also saw Soulfly with Slayer. Max didn't move around enough, nor really get involved with the audience. Such a shame! But at least he played some Sepultura songs. Seeing them again in April, I'm hoping that it'll be a good show.

Looking forward to King Crimson this Saturday (w/ my parents of all people).
Also looking forward to the Blackest of the Black in May, mostly for Danzig and Opeth, but Nile and SJR are cool too.

I just felt like reviving this here ol' thread, if only for 2 reasons:

1) So everyone can join me in laughing at myself that I actually thought the new Soilwork was in any way, shape or form decent. Oh and btw, Speed was a dick.

2) There's an entire fall lineup chock full of ass-kicking tours coming through the States.

How do these sound for starters?
* Arch Enemy/Hate Eternal/Evergrey/The Black Dahlia Murder
* Dimmu Borgir/Nevermore/Hypocrisy/Children of Bodom
* Helloween/Jag Panzer/Beyond The Embrace
* Nile/Kreator/Vader/Amon Amarth/Goatwhore
* King Diamond/Entombed/+ 2 more (yet to be confirmed)
* the NJ Metal & Hardcore Festival (with Dimmu, Nevermore, Hypocrisy, Children of Bodom, Deicide, Divine Empire, Symphony X and more)

Well?

I'm DEFINITELY going to the Hypocrisy show, the other bands... eh. I'll check out Nevermore though.

I want to go to the Nile/Vader show, but I'm trying to forget it on purpose to save money.

Going to see Typo O Negative on the 23rd this month, a bunch of shit bands are opening for them, like Adema. :yuk: I'll show up late.
