Long midi cable?

I'm not having any luck finding a midi cable longer than 25 feet. Why?! I need 35 at least for effects controlling. I found some extenders but is there a reason nobody makes long midi cabling? A limit perhaps? Suggestions welcome!

Max cable length on midi is 50ft. Make one. Some cat5 soldered into 2 ends would be cheap to make. $5 in ends and cable.
