I'll get ya for that ;)

Hehe, noo, no part 1 or 2 or 3 of anything!!
The masterpieces they have put out cannot be topped and should stand as they are. As in the movies, sequels sometimes suck...
What can one expect from a part 2 of anything? Or part 3? An even better piece than its predecessor? Nah. It'll be different BECAUSE it is NOT its predecessor. Masterpieces should be left alone and "as is", especially when one song has floored you already. Even higher expectations arise and maybe, because of that, one would be disappointed if that track would not turn out AS EXPECTED, you know.

We all have our favorite songs, and we should cherish them as they are. They are our personal masterpieces.

Yes that's all true. However, I think that Symphony X may be an exception to this just as there are exceptions to the sucky sequel rule like The Empire Strikes Back, Superman 2, The Godfather Part 2, or Star Trek 2: The Wrath Of Khan...

In other words, let's all behold "The Accolade 2" and wait and see. :)

If anyone can trash this trend, it's Symphony X.

I disagree with you on the sequels thing. Some sequels are really cool. I mean look at Star Wars for instance or the first 4 Rocky movies. And sequels to other songs is also something interesting to do. It wont ruin the original song, you still have it. plus the sequal to it could be incredible. I mean for example (this is probably quite obscure here) but there was a song by Antithesis called Limbo on their self titled album, and on Dying for Life the s/t song (aka Limbo pt. II) was much better than the predecessor as the band became better songwriters. So consider yourself disproven Queen of Ice :)
