Wow this is some completely stellar musicianship! Goddamn these guys can play. As with most Japanese there's a bit of a quirk in there in the shape of a demure looking female vocalist. She's so straight faced in the video it's a almost hilariously odd and crazy whilst the band plays wizard level prog metal all around her.

I wouldn't say that the vocals are killing it for me, but this would be epic with Daniel Estrin singing.

This does remind me of Voyager, now that you mention Estrin. Some of the riffs sounded like Symphony X as well. I quite liked this tune.

Gotta say I agree...and not just because it's a female. Her vocal style is NOT a fit for that music. The music IS crazy good by the way.

I initially was somewhat in agreement. It's odd to hear her when she's mellow, but her voice eventually started to resemble a traditional metal wail during the high ranges, usually accompanied by more aggressive sections. I found it more fitting after that. If only I knew enough Japanese and/or could make out what she was saying more often.

Having heard the whole disc on Spotify, it was a grower but it's brilliant stuff. I wouldn't be surprised to see this make my year-end list.
