LOTR 2 :))

It's taste alright... And I'm gonna watch it.... Most people say it's better than the Fellowship.... More digital carnage I've been told!!!

I cannot understand what do you find interesting in a 180 minute film that has battles, dragons, all kinds of unreal characters (trolls, hobbits, whatever they call 'em), great PC work (but this is a film not a video game)

actually what i find interesting is how these guys transfered this masterpiece from the book to the big screen. What i really don't like is the commercialisation of the film way beyond the movie theaters (see action figures, toys, card games, chocolates, underwear e.t.c.)

Also the PC work is great..yes.. but it's not something that comes alive to ourcreens so easily, people have to understand that computer graphics is a form of art. I don't get it ...so many go crazy when they hear that most of the movie is animated, wake up people we're in the 21st century, in other words ..if you not pleased with the thing don't watch it.

umm ..nothing personal eh :D

o.k. there is many stuff in the movie which is computer animated, BUT there were also a lot of things built up, like the shire, or hobbington was completely created in new zealand. There were many sets and models built up, like Helms Deep. Edoras and Rivendell. So there was a lot of work what makes that movie even more special than others. Another example is that the actors had to learn the elvish language or to fight. But sometimes there is no other way than to use computer techniques because otherwise it would not be possible to create the big battles, like Helm's Deep and that.

cheers

Ok...I'm gonna be hated again.

Am I the only one thinking that this movie is just no big deal? To be honest I never liked sci-fi movies or books (apart from Star Wars-the 3 first parts not those new horible ones), there is no sense of realism.... I dunno, I like stories about life as it is. Funny, sad, I don't care. These kind of flicks just tell me nothing. And above all, I get bored to death. I cannot understand what do you find interesting in a 180 minute film that has battles, dragons, all kinds of unreal characters (trolls, hobbits, whatever they call 'em), great PC work (but this is a film not a video game), and crap acting... The music can be very good though sometimes, I can grant you that. But then, I have the soundtrack, I don't need to watch the film. I get sooooooooo bored lads.... I can't help it.

I'm not biased against the film. I'm gonna watch it this weekend. But it's just for the fun of it, I won't remember nothing afterwards. I dunno why.... To many European flicks I guess. Plus, does it have to be so long? 3 hours???

Don't crucify me kids.... It's just an opinion. I'm gonna post on the film Monday I guess...

And all true film freaks know that Jackson's best work is and will be Braindead. Blood and guts all over baby, yeah!!!

i agree with you, sol, only on the fact that it's no big deal. i mean some people go nuts over these series and say they're the best ever. sit back and enjoy, thats all. i love LOTR, the book and the movie, but they are NEVER and never WILL BE the greatest works of art.

Anyway, I wanna see it first and have my OWN opinion then
But we know Humo sucks, they can't give good reviews albums, movies... whatever they were saying Heideroosjes are heavy metal and Korn only made 2 good albums (first 2). Best one is that Nirvana only made 3 normal albums (Bleach, Nevermind and In Utero, what about Insectiside?)
I puke on Humo. :puke:

have seen it twice now :) opening night and last night. Yeah there's changes from the book like in t he 1st film, and purist naysayers will have their bitches about it, but as somebody that has read the book every year for the past i dont know how many - i love it. It's better the second time, for sure. Faramir's character change is drastic yes. Gollum is incredible though, really amazing....

Go see it!

roll on the extended edition....

This is making me crazy..I have read LOTR couple times through and have not seen even the first film yet..I'm waiting untill I can see all three straight ...yep, stupid...yep...

Enjoy the wait.

In the mean time I'll watch my extended Fellowship a few times, go to see TTT, wait for TTT-extended, watch it a few times, wait till third, go see it in the theaters and when Return of the King -extended is released, I'll buy it and watch all three films in a row. :D

 what's with all the fanatics/nerds?
 ran in to a girl i went to school with and she says she had just been to the cinema, so i asked what she had seen..
:err: and she laughs? and i go "what?" and she laughs some more?!

:yuk: don't know if i should slap people like her, or build a trillion dollar industry around them.. o_O
