Lou reed died

As much as I respect Lou, I never thought I would hear another human being utter those words.

Please, let's not exaggerate. Many here will love Lulu, once it sinks in and stews for a decade. After all, I have been a big fan of Lou since the Velvet Undergrowth's album, Smell the Heroin.

^ I'm one of the most un-apologetic Metallica fans I know -- I can even defend St. Anger--

but I can never defend Lulu. It sounded really cool on paper I suppose, but it's just a really bad record IMO. Many people use the expression "phoned in," but Lulu literally sounds like they called eachother and agreed to do the record and just recorded everything seperately without consulting eachother on anything.
