Well this was a really quick run through so some things I can't understand and some might be wrong so let's all work together to make these lyrics perfect! Here we go:

i thought that i was close as someone would ever get

All the question marks mean that I have no idea what is being said or I could only make out maybe one word or two.
 
Great job, Essense!! My ears picked up a few things differently (noted in red below,) but I'm not convinced they are all 100% accurate either.

and how will i ever rid the thoughts or even make you pay (not sure about the second half, but I'm pretty sure "rid the thoughts" is correct)
Oh babe (sounds weird, but it's either this or Obey and that doesn't fit)

Yep, I think you're 100% right. I think the lyrics are pretty close now... still unsure about a couple lines, but it's real, real close.

now... 'somebody to explain the lyrics ?
is it about religion , "walking on the water" etc... or is it an expression ?
I think it would be nice if it became an habit for bands to give some explanations about the lyrics for each song...
Of course I care the most about the music and the voice , the way all that sounds , but I won't say I don't care at all about the meaning of the lyrics ; and , really , I think I'm far from being the only one that usually don't get them pretty well.
 
This is a awesome song by the way. When I heard it on the April trailer when that came up on the site I got goosebumps when Tom sang it. So awesome.
That's one of the things I love about Evergrey, Tom sings so clear. You can hear pretty much every word he says. Many singers "mumbles" the lyrics.
Everyone has made a great job! Now, just wait for Torn!:p My CD will be broken by October X)
 
The theme for the song ... I also tought about religion but the "walk the water" verse may also be some sort of metaphore and that could lead into many other meanings.

As of the album title is TORN and Evergrey already made an album about religion/cult (wich doesn't mean they couldn't do another one) I also tought this could be a single handed song that could make reference to an ending relationship or something ... lets wait for enterviews and maybe the guys could give us some insight for the meaning : )
