\m/ Faith No More's Glam Thread \m/

To be real, y'all got to give it up for Dokken. They were unfairly lumped in with the rest of the bunch of those poseurs and they definitely didn't deserve it. I am an admitted Dokken junkie and will listen to it as much as Death, Sepultura or anything else that maybe does fit the genre.

Hell, I've got "Back For The Attack" in my car right now. Fuck yeah.

90% of the rest were just hairspray queers with dudes that sounded (and looked) like broads. Count me out of that shit.

Couple of hair bands that everyone else seemed to hate (but me).

Enuff z nuff

no one mentioned enuff znuff because anyone who listens to any album other than maybe the first 2 know they aren't hair metal but are more cheap trick/beatles related. buy an album after 1990 for godsakes

They regard Theatre of Pain as being below GGG. I'm not sure what they think of the post Dr. Feelgood albums.

the post dr feelgood albums are great. self titled with coradi is the best thing they ever did, generation swine was great, new tattoo sucked ass. it sounded too much like they were forcing themselves to write 80's sounding songs and it just didn't work

I think the opposite. Crab stuff was shit. New Tattoo was good because they tried to recreate their 80's sound, bands piss me off when they change their original style just to try and get extra popularity through whats 'in' at the present time.

I fucking hate that. It's exactly why the mainstream sucks, if you read my prediction of the future one day the underground will be mainstream. Sum 41 changed their sound in their 2nd and 3d albums but went back to their stupid pop-punk sound for their new album. I have a respect for Sum 41 though, they claim they are Punk but at least try to be Punk unlike bands like Simple Plan, and Fallout Boy.

And back on to what you said if you change your style you might pick up some fans but you will probably lose more than you pick up. Like RHCP.

Europe are certainly glam. Great tune.

Actually, their first two albums aren't really glam at all. I'm listening to their self-titled debut album right now, and it sounds very progressive rockish, think Rush, and the keyboards are missing. The music is still awesome, though Joey Tempest's vocals aren't quiet as good on this one. However, they would turn glam on The Final Countdown album once they started using keyboards. I actually thought that they were just a straight up hard rock band until you told me otherwise, because there's really nothing metal about this band at all, though I still think they're awesome.

thats cool. i like when bands try something new as long as it isn't too far outside what they started out as and i thought corabi and gen swine were elements of the new and the old

I think the 80's was the best decade for quite a bit of genres. Like R&B, Metal, Rap, Rock, Soul, and Hip-hop.
