I can't believe it. They're back with a killer album, almost no link with the two pieces of shit they've released previously, ' Through The Ashes Of Empires ' should have been their 3rd record, a masterpiece of modern aggresive and melodic thrash metal, no nu-metal crap in that one. Ahhhhh they came back to what made me love them back in 94, heavy riffs, bulldozer mosh parts, screamed vocals, haunting melodies, fast parts, double bass drum a gogo, and now they have a new guitarist who's a talented solist and so on and so on ...
Anyone else heard it ?

burn my eyes had 3-4 really good tunes. they toured with slayer then i think. the more things change i didn't like much and the rest were just bad. not really me cup o tea but i'm happy you said they returned to heavier stuff. they'd be good live i reckon.

sounds great, will check the new one out. burn my eyes was one of my favourites back then

Yep. It's not another Burn My Eyes though but it's a real come back to the roots with some newer elements.

has a couple of ok tracks. They've done one great album, which was "Burn My Eyes". Saw them supporting Slayer in 1994, was very good. then they went all nu-metal, so fuck'em.

Well yeah but this new one has almost no nu-metal parts in it. Ok it's not as good as burn my eyes which is unbeatable anyway i think, but it's really an overall good modern thrash metal album !

modern thrash album? the first track has some genuine thrash in it, for like a minute. the rest of the album is kind of trying to be like the more things change which slow to mid-paced chugga chugga riffing but it's not thrash. and then there's rob's clean voice which is too whiney and there's a completely limp bizkit type track towards the end, and the last song almost copies system of a down despite being an ok song i guess. ok it is heavy. it is metal. but it's not necessarily good. some ok or maybe even good tracks, but generally boring. that's my opinion judging from the online listening thing, have i listened to the wrong album?

if you want to hear how good modern thrash is done, look no further than The Haunted (esp. their first and latest albums)

I have all of The Haunted's albums, thank you. Still the last MH sounds modern thrash to me, but not like The Haunted for sure. Anyway it's just a matter of taste, labelling music sucks.

Talking about that, another excellent modern thrash album is Dew Scented's 'Impact', extreme thrash yeah.

yeah all the Dew Scented I've heard is pretty good, I should check out their albums.

too complicated for me taste. voivod too. i just stick to slayer. maybe some sepultura now and then. that's pretty much it.

dont talk about thrash if you never heard coroner ffs!

I've heard them but not so much. And it's not really thrash metal as far as I remember, they play something complex and original no ? Slayer is THE thrash metal reference anyway.
