Basically my mate has a Mackie Satellite, PC running XP w/cubase sx3, and behringer truths.
He called me up as hes just moved and plugged everything in and on playback there is shite loads of tweeter hiss coming out of the monitors.
My first port of call was to get him some TRS to XLR cables doing from the Mackie to the monitors just to make sure everything was balanced, didn't fix it. So ran the monitors and mackie off a different plug to see if it was the ring main power in the house, not that. I borrowed a isolating transformer (hum destroyer) from my work, plugged it in, didn't do jack.
So just as a final stab I took the satellite out of the base-station bit, turned the monitors back on and bobs ya uncle the disgusting hiss had gone. This isn't really choice for his setup as he runs a couple of headphones and kinda likes the base-station bit.
