Did Bruce jump around like there was a badger in his pants again? Man, that irritates me to no end. Bruce I mean. I don't know what a badger in the pants feels like.

James,

He knows exactly how a badger in his pants feels like.
How else could he know,
he saw Bruce Dickenson jumping around like he had a badger in his pants?

Hahaha.
But, yes he was jumping around.
And, yes the setlist wasn't that good.
But it's Iron Maiden, they could play Newman's greatest hits and it would still be a great show.

Because on two separate occasions, I have seen Bruce Dickinson stuff a badger in his way-too-tight-around-the-balls-trousers and start jumping around like a village idiot.*

*This story may not be true

no doubt that they always put on a great performace but the new album isn't exactly all great live material, not to mention i was hoping the tank would spew fire...

The whole new album and then 5 older songs.
In no specific order: Fear of the Dark, Iron Maiden, 2 minutes to Midnight, Evil That Men Do, and Hallowed be thy name.

The first part is Viking.
The second part is brutal.
That's more than acceptable!

Once the badger was in his pants, did he make gold records?

Never question Bruce Dickinson!

The new record is fine and all, but to be brutally honest - Most folks who go to see them want to see a plethora of songs from their many, many albums.

Thus, if I'd seen them and they had played the entire new record, I'd have left half way through to get drunk at the bar. :)

See the Porcupine Tree thread...know that you're wrong...and go to the bar.

DUH DUH DUH.

Different situation.

At this point in their career, Maiden need not be "second-guessed" on the setlist. Especially if it happens to be the NEW ALBUM in its ENTIRETY. How much more metal can ya get? I'm sorry bro, but I think that you are just wrong on this one. After 15+ albums, it must be impossible to please every fan..but, the new disc is solid, if unspectacular, and they surely reserve the right to serve it up hot and fresh if they so choose. Really, almost any other band would be lauded for this (see Porcupine Tree).

Can you at least agree that Maiden still rules?

'Cause they do...still.

I was also skeptical at first, but i actually enjoyed the show a lot more then i thought. I was about 3 people away from the railing, the crowd unfortunatly wasnt really into it until they started fear of the dark (which was to be expected i guess) but it was great seeing them do something different for a change. I agree a lot of the new material isnt exactly the best for a live setting, but they'll never play most of those songs ever again so it was nice to see them at least once. Plus its fucking maiden, so how can you complain!
