After 15+ albums, it must be impossible to please every fan..but, the new disc is solid, if unspectacular, and they surely reserve the right to serve it up hot and fresh if they so choose. Well, I saw them on the DoD tour and they were quite bad. Not terrible, but they sounded muddled.
I think Brave New World was a brilliant record and DoD to an extent also, but most of their back catalogue (and, yes, I'm aware of their influence) does not really do much for me.
My main comment was just that when you go to see band, especially one as long serving and with as much classic output as Maiden, you want to see a set that covers all the real good material. I'd be pissed off had I bought tickets and they played the entire new record and not much else.
Also, the length and influence of their career does not mean I can't speak ill of them.
That's just my thoughts about it.
Bruce's solo stuff is way better these days, anyways.
