I don't know if alot of you know this or not, but Dannish Progressive/Power metal band Manticora spent time in Afghanistan playing for troops there, they did one show i know at Camp Bastion. Camp Bastion is the main British military base in Afghanistan. Accommodating 21,000 people it is situated northwest of Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand Province, and exists to be the logistics hub for operations in Helmand. it is also the camp where the Dannish Contingent is stationed.

My hat goes out to Lars and the guys for this, bringing a little bit of joy and laughter and a little bit of home to troops stationed away from home, wheather they are US troops, or Dannish, or Norewign, German or English. It shows they care. :headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang:

It was awesome indeed. Lars had quite a few stories about it. But just to be clear, it was the Manticora Iron Maiden Jam who played. Still doesn't take it away from how awesome it is that they did that. :)

To keep things 110% correct: Kasper + Martin + myself (all from Manticora) play in the leading Iron Maiden jam band in Denmark, and the Danish army invited us down to Afghanistan to play. We didn't hesitate for a secind, as we consider it an honour to throw some entertainment towards the soldiers, who have to live in a dusty shithole for 6-12 months. Check out pictures here:

Would we do it again??? You fucking bet......

Still, You guys went out and did it, with no hesitation, and would do it again, that shows heart. Whether it was the entire Manticora or not it was a great thing you did.
