Hey fellas!

I´m at the mastering stage of the latest album I´m producing and don´t know which one sound the best.

Test1: SSL Comp Bus hardware (with mix settings) and tubedesk inserted in master bus, hardclipping, then 3 dbs of loudness to reach -8.3 db RMS

Test 2: SSL Comp Bus hardware (with mix settings) and tubedesk inserted in master bus --> Export peaking -5 dbs then import in a new mastering session where again SSL inserted now with mastering settings (faster attack, auto release), hardclipping, export

Clip 1
Clip 2

Which one sound the best to you??

This aint a pro's oppinion. I do like the sound, the crispyness of it all really beatifull. Think the second one has abit more detail. Any chance you could post the unmastered mix also? (my band is looking for a mastaring job soon: will probably mail you soon anyway)

Clip 1 sounds way better to me. #2 is very fatigueing, it sounds like the plastic version of clip 1. Very good everything! Very well produced and engineered. Respect!

Thank you! It´s been very hard mixing this album, too much layering on vocals, sythns...it´s been hard to put everything together as a whole...
In clip one I´m doing AD/DA conversion twice, and I guess I can notice it.

Cant really say wich one sounded best. I think 2, its abit less pumping sorta, there are just so much things going on in the track.
