After listening to this song a few times, I realized how great that acoustic part in the song is from 4:57 to the 7:45 mark and especially at the 5:17 mark. So damn great to have that in the middle of such a heavy song.

You're right. Really amazing!
This is also a part where Steven Wilson worked on, that's why I welcome his influence on the music of Opeth.

Tis most beautiful I agree. Its kinda like a Morbid Angel song with a Porcupine tree song in the middle.

That's my favourite part of the song, perhaps maybe the whole album. Deliverance is a grower, this cannot be overstated. I remember the day it came out, my friend and I were so excited -- we had pre-ordered the digi, but we couldn't wait any longer, and proceeded to buy the jewel case version at HMV while on our way to class. We immediately put the album on simultaneously, and decided to give our feedback after the completion of the first song. To make a long story short, we weren't impressed with Opeth's new direction solely on the basis of hearing the opening track, Wreath. Needless to say, the album still didn't captivate me like the first time I listened to BWP on that cold winter night in 2001. Since then, I can happily say that I'm warming up to Deliverence like no other album in their discography. Even the new one sparked my interests more than Delieverance did when it came out. However, I can fairly say that Deliverance is a stronger album than GR. Deliverance has more passion -- you can tell that they suffered making this record; it really affected the outcome, but in a positive way.

i love deliverance, its much more layered than it first sounds, the depth is almost suffocating.

Yeah not really sure why people keep dissing this album. Wreath is the weakest track. After that it's genius

Really dump question by the way: Does "master's is the shit" mean, that it's great, or that It's bad? :ill: ;)

"Deliverance" is really underrated. If any other Death Metal Band had released this album, anyone would have called them the new Death Metal Gods or something...
For Opeth it's standard. And this means that it's awesome!

shit = bad
the shit = good

Anyway, Deliverance is indeed a great album, with almost non-stop pummeling songs, something that can't be said about BWP. By the way Wreath is their best effort on this album.

That part from Master's Apprentices is my favourite mellow Opeth part of song, beats all of Damnation for me, and that's saying a lot.
