Hi guys,

I'm looking into buying an audio interface and I'm on a very tight budget. I've been recording with my onboard sound card and I'm actually quite satisfied with the results. (guitar only with Lepou's ampsims)

That said I know I could improve my tone and the Mbox 2 mini intrigues me. I'd like to know if it would actually improve the signal from my guitar... I know, totally noob question. I would be recording guitars only and a track at a time so I don't need multiple inputs. And I have a separate device for MIDI. Does it work with Reaper? Is it better than a M-Audio Fast Track Pro?

Thanks!

If you have a shit onboard soundcard then using the Mbox will definitely give you a better starting point.
I have a Mbox mini for editing and mixing work outside of the studio and it does its job. Obviously nothing too special but definitely decent. Should work fine with Reaper - as long as you have the ASIO drivers or whatever they're called..
