I don't know if I can get in trouble for this or not, but I'm taking a chance. I kinda knocked off Jonas' vocals(you can still hear him though). And I growled over it. Just wanna see if I did well. I like it a lot. Only effects I added was a Auditorium feel to make it more live sounding. The demon vocals at the beginning (Jhva Elohim Meth) is all me..with the help of slowing it down. But check it out. And if this shouldn't be up I'll take it down. Thanks.

Yeah I definetly like Jonas' vocals better on it. I just wanted to see what it sounded like with growls. Plus I don't think I can scream like Jonas did, I would have to practice scream a little bit more.
 
And I noticed I have to clean sing. Can I do power metal vocals there? Haha! Nah I think it's a challenge and I can do it.
 
Some really nice growling right there. It actually works with the song despite the big change from Jonas's style. I also tend to growl it rather than screech my voice to pieces.

I'm actually thinking of doing a version of "Murder" myself with guitars and everything myself over electronic drums.
 
Thanks. Yeah I prefer growls over screams. I did some vocals over Murder but I didn't like the way it turned out. I'd like to hear your version though if you do it.
 
Sure. I usually do "Murder" every time I growl so it shouldn't be too hard of a challenge. The question is if I should record the whole thing with two guitars over computer drums or just do the vocs :p
 
Taake (a little pun there) the challenge. If I had the time to learn the song I'd do it. I'm kinda guitar challenged right now so I'll just stick to vocals.
 
M'kay. I do know the song, it's just a matter of getting the recording time. I'm doing my serious vocal and guitar recording at a music computer in school, and I'm currently recording some of my bands songs. But I'll try and fit "Murder" in as soon as possible since it's gonna be fun project :)
 
Bad ass! I knew ye had it in you! Well gee it's almost 4:30 AM and I haven't slept yet ;o Maybe it's that time? Nah I'll just get coffee ; )
 
Fuckin A! It's been awhile since I did one of these too. An all nighter that issss. Well when I have work later and I end up falling asleep on the slicer, I'll just know I did it for Katatonia!
 
Heh. It's pure ownage. I don't really have time to do those anymore since all my time gets eaten up by my girlfriend, band and school.

One thing about "Murder" had me thinking though. I have to record it in D since I've got thick as hell strings on my best guitar. But it doesn't matter anyway, since I usually play it that way. As long as the melodies don't get screwed up some downtuning can't be out of place :p
 
Wow! Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Took me a long time to get this good, I hope it pays off one day. Gotta find a stable band. I'll put another song up soon when I get some time.
 
The only thing i didnt like was the delay thing you had going, but good growls indeed. Stefan, if you record a non-vocal version, let us know and well start a singing competition! (we had cover competitions, right ;) )
