Megadeth- why are they such a polarizing band?

I love them all even the last two which were weak efforts. Criptic Writings is a very underated album among the metal fans and it's way better than Youthanasia but i guess A tout le monde kills some clear head judgement.

I love Megadeth I always will

Damn right! Love him or hate him Mustaine is one of the best rhythm guitar players ever in metal! I have always been and always will be a Megadeth fan. If it wasn't for Megadeth and Maiden, I would be loving the music I do now. Look what Mustaine accomplished on his own. You have to respect the man. I also love his voice, it's full of angst/anger. I mentioned it before, for some reason I hear a lot of King Diamond (minus the wail) in Mustaines voice.

I dont hate them but I think they're weak. They shouldn't be even considerd to be 1 band apart of the big 4 of Thrash Metal. Maybe I would like them better if Mustaine was a better vocalist so he doesn't sound like some pussy.

Murai , I respect your opinion, but musically the first 4 megadeth releases match up with all the great thrash releases. After that- I think they become sort of a solo crazy band- I really never cared all too much for marty.

I like Dave's voice...it's not great, but it's vile and ruthless...just like their thrash. No one else could sing for Megadeth but Megadave.

Megadeth is a good band but not the best, i liked peace sells and rust in peace, though when it comes to thrash i'd rather be checking out testament, metallica, or slayer
