I'm having a weird problem with Mellowmuse IR1A on Windows 7 x64. I put the license in the folder they said to -

C:/Program files(x86)/Common Files/Digidesign/DAE/Plug-Ins

But when I open up Pro Tools 8 , the plug in opens but refuses to load any impulses. Even the stock ones that come with the plug in aren't there. I tried re- installing , no dice. It just says "couldn't load file". I know the files I am loading are good ,such as Recabinet. Anyone else have this problem ? The forum on the Mellowmuse site has been unhelpful so far.

Try posting about this on the MellowMuse forums. While he's made a good plugin, it's clearly still got some bugs to sort out and I'm not sure where things stand with respect to 64 bit.

Only issue I had so far with Mellowmuse was me not selecting to install everything when I ran the installer. I e-mailed the support from the website and got an answer within a couple of hours to re-install and make sure everything was checked to be installed. I think I had previously only installed the VST and that's all, but this also meant the "Library" folder would not be installed, which is what made IR1A not work for me right at first. As I said, re-installing it and letting it do it's thing instead of changing it and it was fine afterwards. I used the forum too but no answer, send support an e-mail he gets back pretty soon.

I should have read your post more thoroughly, wow. Sorry to hear about the problem. My understanding is that Pro Tools is still in public beta for Windows 7, so this may be an issue with Pro Tools.

Protools 8 is not yet qualified with Windows 7, it´s still only Beta, you should stay on a working qualified version on a working qualified OS!

I cant see what all the rush is to use windows 7. Protools is working great on XP, and for the time being it´s probably better to wait for a qualified version for Win 7, unless you are just testing.
I would not use an unqualified version to record any serious work, you will be asking for trouble.

Because Windows XP can only see about half or less of my computer's total power. I didn't pay for half of my computer , I paid for all of it. I have almost everything running fine on Windows 7 , save for IR1A and one other program. Windows 7 is great , it is Digidesign's fault for being lazy (and stupid) for not supporting Windows 7 right out of the gate. Everyone is going to upgrade to Windows 7 eventually , I just wanted to get it over with. I'm sure there is someone still clinging on to Windows 95 , but he's probably not getting much work done.

Could be , I hope not. All my other plug ins have worked fine so far.

I think that's your issue. If staying up to date with the latest technology is what you like to do, you will be endlessly frustrated by Pro Tools. Thankfully, Steinberg offers competitive upgrade pricing for Cubase if you want to switch (it's what I did.)

I waited quite a while before upgrading to OSX 10.5 myself. I Made sure I found at least 3 people with the same (or extremely close) setup as I did and their shit was working with 10.5, etc. before I upgraded.

And now that I'm getting close to purchasing, most likely, a 27" iMac I will be jumping over to Intel (replacing my PowerPC chipped G5) which means I have already been researching and making sure all of my plug-ins and software will be ok - and if not, what do I need to buy so that I can keep working.

I think i saw a few threads floating around with guys using 10.6 having no problems.

Hi JayB,

If you cant work because you cant use all the potential of your computer because of Protools not being yet qualified with W7 can be frustrating.

Nah , I really hate Cubase. I'm done upgrading for now , I just wanted to get Windows 7 done and my computer upgraded so I can NOT have to do this for a while. Like I said , only two plug ins are not working.

Yeah , I couldn't understand any of that either. Look if no one KNOWS the problem I'm having , don't bother chiming in with Pro Tools sucks or - "Hey just switch back to Windows XP and another DAW" (because that's so easy:rolleyes:) or berate me for upgrading my computer. If someone has a helpful suggestion I'm all ears.

Good point, I know I didn't mean to go off on a spiel my bad haha. Hope you get this sorted!

FINALLY got it working ! For some gay fucking reason , Windows was not running Pro Tools under administrator even though I checked that setting multiple times. Now both IR1A and Drumagog work ! I can't believe neither of those companies suggested that as a fix !
