Mesa Dual Rectifier 2ch

OH BOY!!! I couldn't have asked for a better thread title

I got mine for $1140 shipped, basically anything under $1200 used is a good deal, and don't bother with any of the "early serial #/revision" hooha, whatever differences there are are gonna be subtle, and not worth the RETARDED prices the sellers charge! (also, there were ~15k 2 ch. Dual Recs made, and the last ~12k were IDENTICAL, so I doubt they would've stuck with it that long if they sucked ;)) As for clips, here's the best one I've come up with yet (re-amping for Black Neon Bob); may sound pretty fizzy, but just wait until you hear it in a mix! :notworthy (and this is actually the second one I did for him, the first was indeed less fizzy, but had a bit of a problem cutting through - I'm fast learning how different good tones sound in a mix vs. by themselves!)

The main thing I just adore about it is that low-mid bark; listen to those power chords Bob holds out, droooooooll (and this was boosted with a TS7 and through a Recto 4x12 mic'ed with a 57)

Thanks Dan! I've been working like crazy this past week from the feedback I've gotten on the clips I've posted, messing dramatically with amp settings and mic position and forcing myself to realize that my current concept of a "good" tone by itself has consistently sounded like crap in a mix, so it's nice to get some positive feedback indicating I'm going in the right direction! :D

And Matt, I can't see why a 530 wouldn't work well through it, but I'm pretty sure you'll wanna have it on the Orange channel when using it, cuz the power amp behaves REALLY differently on the Red (I've never slaved an external pre-amp through it, but the impulses I've made of the Orange channel have been normal, while the ones of the Red have sounded as if it's a blend between half impulse and half direct pre-amp :ill: But hey, it sure as fuck works in the case of the amp itself! :))

Badass Pete, really tight playing and cool tone! I wouldn't say it's anywhere near as idiot-proof as a 5150 though, it's taken me a bit to really nail down some good settings, but I'm really happy with what I got for the re-amp clip I posted above!

Probably got a bit excited  but the Dual Rec has been really easy for me to record.

However, I'm in the Middle of fixing my headphones so I haven't been able to record in ages. I need to get a new jack as the other one fucked up.

Just so aggressive and in your face but still chunky.

Thanks man! To me no amp defines chunky like a Rec! And now that I have my Recto cab, I'll be borrowing my friend's 3-channel in the next few days for a comparison!

And sucks about your cans, but why do you need them to record?

I have one in top condition that I might have to sell soon because I'm gonna be moving into an apartment by this Fall. Anywayz yeah don't pay more that $1200 for one or you're getting raped. Good luck!

FYI - I'm going to be selling a 2 channel rectifier fairly soon. Probaby be just under $1k plus shipping. Send me a PM if you are interested.
