The light-up "on" indicator bulb went out on my 2:90 a few years ago, and I've never gotten it replaced. I have thought of doing so and don't know what size or whever is supposed to be used (if its universal between all amps or what), but I'm also wondering if getting an LED retrofit would not only be possible, but would it be in any way helpful? Maybe it would be brighter (more ZAZZ!)?

If possible you should replace it with a blinker bulb from a car...

I believe I've seen the replacement bulbs on ebay if you type in pilot light. Good luck!

Unscrew the jewel light on the front (the one that makes it the red color) and then push the bulb in and spin it counter clockwise to pull it out.

I know how it works, I pulled the bulb a couple years ago so I could go get another one and one thing led to another and now I don't know what to replace it with....hence me asking the question....

I think it's a "Miniature Lamp #47". These were common in old radios, etc. You might find one in a good hardware store, or autoparts store. Otherwise, maybe Mouser.com, or a similar on-line electronics store.

Personally, I wouldn't hassle with trying to adapt an LED in it's place.
