anyone tried those mesa recto 1x12 cab for recording?
how does it sounds in a mix?
i have a mesa dual recto 2 ch head , isn't too much loud for this small cab?

i didn't find someone who can ship a 2x12 recto cab to my country this is why im asking about the 1x12 cab

waiting for advices
thanks

I tried a Mini Rectifier 1x12 against the vertical Engl 2x12 and it kicked ass. Slightly less bottom end, of course, but a much smoother midrange. The shop didn't have a Recto 2x12 in stock for comparison, though.

I've played through a pair of the new 1x12's and they sound KILLER in the room. Keep in mind that each one is rated for 60w, so your dual rec is very likely to kill it.

I disagree. It will only kill it if your rectifier is cranked high enough to actually be feeding the speaker more than 60 watts... If you play obscenely loud, keep this in mind. Otherwise, you might be okay.

Mini Rectifier + 'Stein Jr through a Mini Recto 1x12 miced with an i5 and an SM57. Don't remember what samples I used for kick + snare but I'm pretty sure it was LSD.
BTW: I once used a 100W JCM 800 through another low-wattage-rated 1x12 - it will definitely not kill your cab if you don't turn it up to ludicrously high volume levels.

Of course, the smaller volume of the cab means higher resonant frequencies which equals to less low end. It's a different flavour to what you might be used to.
