I did a search and didn't find anything. Is there a location on this forum that discusses modifications for amps? Particularly, a Mesa Single Recto head. I even looked on the boogie board.

If not, do you have suggestions? Clips?

I'm looking for both fizz removal and to add more resonance...and perhaps some other things that I don't know about.

btw - this whole mod thing is new to me, so thanks in advance!

contact trace @ voodoo amps, he's a great guy to deal with and as honest as they come

if you look on their site they offer the standard recto mod which is pretty pricey, but even trace will tell you that it covers pretty much everything that most recto owners want to have improved...if you're just wanting one or two minor tweaks tho, they can do other mods that won't cost quite as much

i'm pretty sure FJA does mod mesas, but i've not heard much feedback on jerry's mesa work

on the voodoo amps page that mp1 sounded sweet. i may have to get that. i wanted to pick one up anyway. i always loved nuno betterncourt and i always loved that gritty tone the mp1 has and its dirt cheap.

i may use the power section of my mark iv as a power amp for now

i tried using the power section of my mark III as a power amp for a bit...while it did sound pretty good, pretty much every preamp that went into it that way sounded A LOT like just running the mark III

maybe use other amps? my road king? im not sure that may be too "non-80's"

i don't want to get a seperate power amp cuz in the future i was gonna get a 2:90 anyway with a triaxis so maybe get the mp1 soon and ues the mark iv to experiment until i get the 2:90 to use which im sure will sound fantastic.

i wonde what the most popular power amp people use with the mp1. soundclips like on the voodoo page never mention the power amp and it irks me because the power amp has such a huge role in the tone

Ahahahahaha, a Road King, Mark IV, and soon a Triaxis, what a Petrucci worshipper (as if the avatar wasn't a big enough giveaway...) - did you buy the first two at Rudy's, by any chance?
