Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve

Oh yeah baby, a chip off the same block as me.

I think DEI is great, but Chaosphere does top it. I think overall it has a bit of a smoother sound, whilst still retaining that godly tightness and dryness.

What do you mean what happened to him? He's one of the biggest producers in metal.

I'm thinking that's a comment on the material he's worked on recently. I know a lot of people slag the last few In Flames releases that he's produced, both for the sound and the quality of the material. IMHO, the sound is subjective. If it's the writing, that's not his fault, it's the band's.

I love his latest in flames mixes...

But i can see people not liking it as much as i do.. compared to, let's say "clayman"...

Bergstrand is an absolute killer and everything that goes in his hands sounds killer to me. I love the touch he gives to his productions.
He has "his" sound and has his way to work, which can seems strange sometimes.
One of the best he did is : DEI, Chaosphere, In Flames' Reroute, Soilwork's Stabbing The Drama, last two Raised Fist, In Flames last album...

Yep, DEI is a fantastic record, both musicalwise & soundwise. But I really can't stand the way Bergstrand produces today (with the exception of stabbing the drama). It's mainly the drumsound, I really hate those phasey cymbals and the cardboard drums....yuk.

But, I've said it before, Bergstrand deserves credit for doing it differently than many other producers - he'll be back on track again, just wait and see

GHUN GHUN GHUN GHUN GHUN GHUN Terminal Illusions is the heaviest song ever written!:kickass: Definately in my top five favorite albums! My dad (drummer for 40 years) listens to Stabbing the Drama every day! He just loves the drummer's playing on that album.
