Edit 2: Wow immediate almost melodic hardcore vibe to this but with killer thrash riffs and intense death metal cymbal slaughtering, this rules. Drums are perf.

We mentioned it together with @CiG. Flawless band to say the least.

how do you guys rate/form a solid opinion on albums after just one spin?

I don't.

Edit: when it comes to rating, I rate my first impression and then if it changes after more listens, I simply alter the rating.

I'm just that good that many albums I don't even have to listen to in order to rate them!

I personally wouldn't conflate rating an album with forming a solid opinion, the latter definitely takes more time.
