First track by the new doom band Friends of Hell dropped in January and somehow nobody posted it.



Also there's an album teaser with samples of different songs.



Tas Danazoglou (Satan’s Wrath/ex-Electric Wizard) and Sami Hynninen (Opium Warlords/ex-Reverend Bizarre) with two other dudes on Rise Above Rex.

This Tas dude gets way too much mileage out of recording 1 fucking album with Electric Wizard. I guess mentioning that he's in Mirror doesn't have the same marketing appeal, even though it should cos Mirror rule.

Anyways the track is cool, not exactly mindblowing or anything. Still looking forward to this shit though, total sucker for Sami doing doom. One of my favourite vocalists ever.

“The Long Defeat” unfolds over three parallel storylines told via three different mediums. Two in writing: the lyrics, as well as a fable. The third speaks through the artwork – two metres’ worth of maniacally detailed visions depicting the same premise its written content draws from. All three are fundamentally entwined but diverging in narrative, each complementing or contradicting the others.

Best shit I've heard this year so far are the new Voivod, Deathhammer, Rotten Tomb and Grevlar albums.

I love Voivod but I've found the new one quite underwhelming, it's the first one they've put out where I feel like I've heard it all before and I can't say any one song has stuck with me. Best thing I've heard so far is the new Satan, but I haven't been exploring much.
