anything, brutal or melodic, as long as its standard tuning :Spin:
i just wanna jam along to it with my acoustic :)

Opeth, Cynic and Atheist for starters...

If you don't have an electric though, I highly suggest getting one, playing metal on an acoustic is like drumming on a table with 2 toothpicks...

Most of black metal bands use standard tuning. Since you have an acoustic guitar, I would recommend you to learn songs from black/folk bands where you can practive their acoustic parts too, like early Ulver, October Falls, Borknagar, some Empyrium, Agalloch, etc.

oh. well no i dont listen to black metal, but i'll give it a try.
what i meant was bands like the faceless, rings of saturn, or cerebral bore. since i need to practice sweeps but not anything too folk-y or black metal-y

ah. well i dont know how to droptune :D but i can play shit by ear, still sounds the same.

Then try Dechistianize-Icons of evil era Vital Remains. It's drop D, which means standard tuning excepting the 6th string tuned to d.
