Yea, I'm up for the camping as well. Who the hell goes to metal camp, and doesn't camp? I'll just sleep on a rolled up sweater. Fuck tents, sleeping bags, and all that other shit. Though we would still need to get a hotel room regardless, to act as a storage locker and showering facility.

If I go I'm camping for sure. Nothing like being awake all night drinking many a beer surrounded by 5000 smelly men, 50 fat chicks, and 3 good looking chicks.

I'd surely pitch in for 1 or 2 hotel storage shitters.

If you guys are seriously considering this, then all is dependent on $$$ for me so I'll have to wait for tax rebate time, early next year.

I'm not one for camping so I'll rough it at the hotel in Kobarid. Nice little hotel, great restaurant, and a sweet pub & beer garden across the street packed full of young travellers from Austria and Hungary and wot not.

The hotel is also kind enough to arrange taxi transport to and fro the metal camp site (for a nominal fee, of course).

We should get a headcount on hotel stayers. Here's the hotel.

This festival is like 5 days right? Sleeping in a tent for 5 nights = I survived wacken but I would probably kill someone if I had to camp longer than that. (wimp)

My thing about the hotel, is that I don't like to sleep much for these types of things... and the only times I do sleep is when alcohol forces me to sleep.

Where as with the camping, I can get drunk with a bunch of europeans, and just pass out on the ground wherever when the time is right.

If I have fuckloads of money though, I may opt for the hotel/taxi option.

Wonder what the currency exchange rates'll be like round that time.

Yea I've decided that I'm going to get a room. Though I'll probably camp for 1 or 2 of the nights, I don't want to be forced to do so.

I honestly can not wait for this event.

So I looked in to it. I won't be saving much money going with the one way route. It may actually turn out to be more, not to mention being an excruciatingly long flight to save mere pennies. 13hours > 22hours.

I could depart from Mexico on Wed July 2nd at 1500 hours, stop in Paris for a connecting flight, and make it in to LJU on July 3rd at roughly 1500.

Total cost for this flight 1700. It's a kick in the balls, but I don't expect it to get much cheaper than that considering the land covered.

This whole fest will probably rape 3 grand from my pocket. Oh well :kickass:

Too time consuming and it won't save much.

Oh hush. :loco:

I saw a non-stop roundtrip ticket for $1,127 I believe from LAX to London (Continental Airlines if I recall). I just used Ryanair as an example, but there are others as well. I know JayKeeley went from London to Metal Camp this year, so maybe he can shed some light on that portion of the trip. I dunno, might save some money.
