The latest Songs To Watch is up, a lot of fairly obscure extreme stuff this week, and the usual assortment of killer prog from everywhere in sight...

Wardog fucking rule... (used to rule actually)
yes they did! but there is one group named "balistic". This group was one the last "Heavy Oder Was?" CD. The singer is definatelly the wardog singer/guitarist Tom Gatis and the riffing was like wardog. I would recognise it anywhere!Originally posted by TexasFriedCriminal
you're not telling me they split...... ?

define obscure? Sometimes I discover bands I think are obscure, but then find out that every other metal fan knows of them. For example, Watchtower and Cynic. I didn't know of either of them up until a couple years ago, but then found out that almost everyone here knows them. Hmm...here are a few that y'all might not know:
Enertia (very similar to new Flotsam and Jetsam)
Encryption (musically similar to death metal mixed with power metal, but the vox are clean. Their first CD is cool; the vocals get too whiny on the second)
Alchemist (similar to Neurosis, very weird but very cool)
Braindance (self-proclaimed "Progressive Darkwave", sounds like progressive doom metal to me)
Gracepoint (metalized knows them. their style is hard to pinpoint, but it is definitely cool)
The Lord Weird Slough Feg (folk metal, awesome stuff)
Opposite Earth (one of the best progressive metal CDs I've heard, but only after listening to it a few times)
later.

What counts is not the ammount of knowledge we all have. It is the quest to make this knowledge evergrowing!
This is not a comparisson to show who knows more. It is a search for learning new things in metal!
Don't worry kid! The treasure's there all we all have to do is to discover it and dig it out!
There is so much metal! noone will ever hear all metal ever released! Unless groups stop releasing records and CDs and he/she grows 300 years all!Originally posted by [KOTNO]Narrot
