Jack Endino makes a particularly good point.

I "stole" this from the gen forum. This is a link of interviews from various rock/metal musicians and their thoughts about the tragic death of "Dimebag" Darrell.

My personal favorite is Jorn Lande's opinion. I'm not biased towards him as I know very little of his music, but I like his outlook and stance on this tragedy.

Thnaks for sharing this link Bryant it is really cool to see what people say. I do love Lande's music and I like a lot what he stated.
Now regarding murder I like especially what Al Atkins said, to me is the bottom line. Is not about the music is about the human psyche, wackos are all around and you cannot blame music, TV, religion, politics or anything.

I agree, Jorn Lande makes a great point and Al Atkins sums it up nicely.
But also, for me, listening to and playing Heavy Metal is more of a release and escape rather than an encouragement of violence. If I'm pissed off and I listen to some metal or play some heavy riffs or give the drum kit a pounding, I feel a bit better afterwards. Anyone agree?
