I've been listening back on recordings I did a while back (almost 2 years ago) when I hardly knew anything about recording. I knew virtually nothing about mixing at the time, but what surprises me is that I quite like the vibe and even the tone of some of the things I did.
I won't reveal what I used at this moment in time because I'd like people to guess at what I used to get the sound I did. The drums should be obvious, but I'll be really interested to hear what people think I used for the guitars.
The tracks are songs I co-wrote with a hardcore vocalist. Below are two versions of the same song with different guitar tones.
