Metallica Ecstacy of gold video

It's becomming apparent why St. Anger had no solos on it....

Eh, the live song I heard that is allegedly going to be on their next album had a lot of soloing in it, and it wasn't nearly this bad. It was about the same level as the solos on their early stuff, a lot better than anything else he's done since the black album and maybe even AJFA. Obviously nothing satriani level or anything, but not really anything to be embarrassed about unless you're trying to be mr. technical man. The song wasn't that terrible either, it was like st. anger the less boring version with a bunch of actual old school metallica bits. If the album ends up sounding like that it will at least be a big step in the right direction :P

That woukd make me very happy.

I thought it was ok.

Hanging out with a Yankee is further proof that they are now officially sellouts

I'm convinced the new album will be much better than St Anger, but nowhere near as good as any of the pre-load albums were. In other words it can't possibly get any worse than the shameful St.

Im sure they can hang out with whoever they want...
On the subject of their music though, I just don't think they have another classic record in them plain and simple, just like Megadeth, just like Slayer and just like most other bands from that era...
Although prop's to Megadeth for atleast comming out with something not half bad of late...

How are these guys famous?

dont be ridiculous. it's metallica we're talking about.

they are shit now, but they werent always that way.

for your stupid post, i sentence you to listen "wherever i may roam" and "battery" for a 100 times at home.

if you still insist on your post afterwards, a pair of headphones playing st.anger will be glued to your ears. now thats real punishment. so you'd better start liking those two songs. :tickled:

2 words... Mustaine, Burton.

Ok and Hetfield when he was alcoholica.

Yeah, I remember reading that they were supposed to stop using songs that Dave wrote after RTL, but then continued on MoP. And the influence of Cliff cannot be overstated.

Oh, and the introduction of Bob Rock into the Metallicamp was probably not a good thing (musically....I'm sure they're pretty happy about the money, though).

^If this is true, I don't know? Kirk Hamster(Hammet) quit Exodus to join Metallica, so im thinking he probably brought that riff with him to show to the band, unless you have a specific song to compare it to I can listen to.

One of the dudes from Exodus did an interview with Metal Hammer and mentioned it. He said when he saw umm... they woof woof guy... I forgot his name. He tackled him or something like that. But they're friends, they weren't on bad terms or anything.
