Metallica is ass

Yeah, opinions.... Worthless, really... And you're Canadian to boot.

Metallica has sucked for longer than they were ever good...

You think metallica has good song writing? ...
i see...

lets examine that shile we...
(hatfield stated in an interview that on the load album he chose to write some of his most deep personal lyrics/music)

ok... so i guess that makes a song about a 2X4 really deep, and a song about "aint my bitch", or how bout mama said, a really stupid complaining country tune?...

good song writing? i think not

and if you cant understand the depth and masturfull songwriting of Death's Human CD... then i fear for you...

read some lyrics... tell me there not better and more emotional then what metallica tried to get acrost on justice for all...

Do try to think before you speak u long time blind metallica fans... it just makes us all look dumb ;)

Either you don't know much about Metallica and you are criticizing them or you don't read what you post. It's Hetfield not Hatfield.
Do try to read what you post before you post it you long time blind fan of whatever bands you listen to...it just makes us all look dumb.

some lyrics of metallica are really great: and justice for all, one, master of puppets..
but another example, harvester of sorrow has one of the worst lyrics I've ever heard...
yeah, I like their old days but as I said, now all those hurt me
look at "one", then look at "ain't my bitch"...aaarrghhh!!!

and it's just my opinion
I always love Testament more than Metallica
Testament is better all the times

hmm..I think I don't wanna discuss about metallica anymore

your plan is to just bring up childish arguments... good tactic poptallica fan.

-*claps*

Your argument is based on your own opinions, why would I dispute that? Everyone is gonna have different opinions.
I didn't bring up a childish argument I merely said that you should check your post before you post it. It doesn't look good whenever you argue about anything if you can't spell something right. It makes the person look less credible. If you've written college papers you will know.

First of all, NecromancerAlpha, you're a moron. He said that Metallica had great songwriting on MoP and AJFA, and you countered it with bringing up a song from Load. Do you know how to read? It's obvious typing is beyond your abilities.

As for the drummer comment, there was a worse thrash drummer than Lars, his name was Louie Clemente, remember him?

AJFA and MoP are both better than anything Testament has put out, regardless of the talent of the individual band members involved. The crap Metallica has put out since AJFA is atrocious, though the black album had a few decent songs.

Although I really hate what Metallica have been up to since 1988, I can't deny the excellence of their early works. Testament, on the other hand, is still going strong, although I do still prefer Practice What You Preach and The New Order to the newer material.

Those are my opinions, flame away.

long? hahahaha....you've obviously not listened to much if you think Metallica's songs are too long. Go listen to some old Rush, or some Dream Theater, or Green Carnation's new one (60 minute song). Besides, long songs are the best ones. You actually have time to get into them before they're over. Anything under 5 minutes isn't a complete song, IMO. It's just getting started, then it's over.

Lars was a very sloppy drummer. I have a friend who grew up in SF and went to see them play quite a bit between 82 and 85 and he said Lars was always very sloppy and muffing stuff up.
Why are people always picking on Louie Clemente???
The TestAmenT shit with him kicks ass and he always sounded great live. It was very cool to see him in Old Bridge, New Jersey a few summers ago when TestAmenT played a gig there with Lombardo on drums and Chuck got Louie to cme out on stage and say hello. He got a HUGE round of applause. Dont dis Louie!

I agree about the length, longer is better. Testament's D.N.R. and Hatred's Rise are both too damn short, but are among their best songs. Songs off Legacy seem longer. I know nothing about song structure, but Over the Wall has that killer bridge after the solos that lengthens the song, leading into another main riff. I would have loved to hear that riff repeated at least one more time before the final chorus.

One of the reasons I like old Destruction or Exciter's Long Live the Loud -- the repetitive riffing -- I've got some time to get into it and really bang the 'ol head.

Metallica have a right to do what they want, and even the weakest track off of Load is better than what most of us could come up with, I'm sure.

While I think that since Cliff died there has really been no creative genius driving the band (which is why the first four albums are so incredible), there have been moments with the newer lineup. Nothing Else Matters was a classic, and I must say Mama Said and Outlaw Torn were pretty good, too. Still, on the whole Load and ReLoad were too little too late, too many songs with no fucking point in being written and too few that were, well, METAL. The fact remains that if you can't do better than don't bitch. Buy it or don't buy it, and if people still want to at least the band is eating.

if you can't do better, don't bitch? I'm assuming you have movies you don't like, can you do better? Perhaps some restaurant you think sucks and warn other people to steer clear? I'm sorry, but I may not be able to "do" better, but I CAN hear better (well, not right now, just got back from the Rush concert).

Hey, I didn't like it all that much either, but I don't wear the fucking T-shirts. Saying Metallica sucks because they've had a rough decade is unfair based upon the immense strength of their early work and because, as I said, none of us can do better. A better thing to tell people is "Buy Master of Puppets!" Let them hear the master at work on the four string motherfukker!

Better yet, buy Doomsday for the Deceiver to see that Newsted was way better than Burton, yet he sucked once he joined Metallica.

There are better bass players than Burton certainly, but compare the Newsted solo on Binge and Purge with Anesthesia and there is no comparison! Also, Cliff's basswork was not his greatest contribution to the band but rather his ingenius knack for harmonic texture in his compositions (like the astounding and beautiful Orion.)
