1 Measure
4 beats Per measure
4 steps per beat
??????????????????????

Can't help you out with Piano Roll man, it's still pretty new to me. I recently bought SSD4 Essentials and played with it a little. My very first paid-for drum VSTi. So yeah, I'm still new at it.

hahaha yeah
but how to right in piano roll damn looks so tricky
1/8 ,1/16 ,1/32 ,1/64 ,1/128 bar's??
where to use them/??? how to use them?? and why to use them??
how to fix a tempo of a song? :S
damn this stuffs are so fucking confusing
feeling like ripping my head off

Can't you just draw in 1/4 notes? For drum programming it doesn't matter what length the note is a far as I know

That's what I do. I just draw in 1/4 notes and assemble a pattern. Experiment, play around. I'd never seen a piano roll before, always used drum machines. It's not that hard once you get into it.

Usually if I'm working on drums in the piano roll I will change the view to named notes (Alt+2) instead of the default piano roll. If you know your MIDI for drums (i.e 36 = kick, 38 = snare etc.) it makes it much easier to see whats going on. The rest is pretty simple, set your tempo and time signature, set the grid to around 1/8th or 1/16th notes and draw in some patterns. You can edit the note velocity using the vertical bars at the bottom or by clicking on the top of a note a dragging it up or down. Reaper's built in humanisation can be decent too, with a bit of tweaking. Just select the pattern and hit H.

You can also change the appearance of the bars to diamonds in the menu. The latter only reflect the start time of the note event, so you do not need to bother with the bar length of each note for drum programming.
