metronome in double time?

I find it a lot easier to track in double time, but my time stamps are not in DT. I'm not about to change all of them so is there any way I can get the metronome to do DT? I'm using Reaper btw.

Not sure if this would work since I don't use Reaper, but you could try changing from 4/4 time to 8/8?

I think most will allow you to set the division of the click in the metronome settings. I find i feel better in double time but sound better in half time. Seriously try it. It's harder, but if you can do it it is generally smoother b/c you are actually keeping time rather than constantly adjusting.

depends on the music/ part/section of the song. sometimes double time is better; more often than not its better on faster metal; but on slower/more groove based stuff a half time/normal time click can be better as the space allows the player to fill the gaps in the best way

Click playing 1/8th notes is easier for me too
