Yes, I think this band disserves a thread (with endless pages, heh)


I got to know this band from Denmark through the playlist of Blakkheim about a week ago. I checked out some songs and they took away my breath! I've been more or less addicted to them since then (trying not to be, 'cause I don't want to waste the feeling of listening to extremely beautiful songs by listening to it too much(failing though))

I noticed I haven't really heard this name on the forum before, so I'm affraid some of you don't know them... By this thread I'm trying to introduce them to you people who haven't heard of them before

I remember they have been mentioned on this forum several times in the past. Someone here is a great fan of them, I don't remember who it was, but he was promoting them all the time on the Antimatter forum back in the day.
 
Yeah, Mew is a pretty amazing band. Actually, I started a thread on them a little while ago in the non-metal section. So yeah, I'm a pretty big fan. Hope they release a new cd sometime in the near future.
 
I love the "Frengers" album, but the newest one "And the Glass Handes Kites" is kinda boring. I think I listened to it one time, and decided that I would not give it another chance (maybe I should try). But "Frengers" is a fantastic album.

Are you crazy? We're not exactly talking melodic power metal here, that you get right away and get fed up with after a few listens.
You should definately give it another chance. Its basically the same style as Frengers and just as good.
 
Been a huge fan since last year, they destroy...and Glass handed is way better than frengers tbh. Hands down the best pop/alternative band of this decade.
 
i like 'em... specially 2005's "And The Glass Handed Kites".. was really introduced to them by an old GF.. she loves it and was in a incurable addiction.. it was on her mp3player all the time... so it was a good soundtrack for that time..

I know, I know, but I was just so disappointed, when it came out, and I just dropped it. Not fair to be honest, so I might have to give it some spins more. But for example, the song "Special" is just so poor.
 
maybe you don't know but they were a mtv band a couple of years ago..so I did know about them ever since ,but I totally forgot about 'em somehow , thanks for the reminder...
 
He's one of the legendary ones btw. Do you recon he'd slay Blakkheim? I'd sell my sister to see Mew and Blakkheim battle it out
