For anyone who's interested, here's a very non-scientific test I ran with three mics on three different speakers in my old Marshall (25W greenbacks).
Guitar is a Zakk Wylde Epi p/up is EMG81, head is a 5150 with a overdrive in front.
Mic is just off dead centre, with some riffing and a little lead in each example.
